Thesis defense of Flora LATRIGLIA, PhD student in the Biophotonics group of the Laboratoire Charles Fabry, on Wednesday 22 May 2024 at 10:00am, in the Auditorium of the Institut d'Optique Graduate School in Palaiseau, on the topic: "Technical extensions of LC-OCT based on tandem interferometry for imaging biological tissues".
Abstract: "Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT), an innovative optical imaging technology, provides a three-dimensional view of the skin through the dermis. We introduce a novel LC-OCT device based on tandem interferometry, a technique allowing certain imaging probe elements to be moved to an external interferometer, making future LC-OCT probes lighter and more compact. Additionally, we explore integrating a liquid lens to enhance imaging depth and speed. Tandem LC-OCT could enable imaging of internally and externally challenging tissues through the integration of a modular endoscopic tip. A rigid tip prototype has been designed, with initial in vivo images of skin and lower lip having validated the feasibility of this approach. In summary, this doctoral work establishes strong foundations for the development of tandem LC-OCT systems."
